Kitchen, Spice Jar & Pantry Organizing Labels

These kitchen organizing labels for your pantry and spice jar containers and canisters are designed by Emily McDowell, a illustrator, designer and truth-teller. Emily also has an Etsy Shop you should check out to see more of her great illustrations.

There are two types of labels offered. One has words on them with an awesome font designed by Emily on them and ready for you to print -:) Then we have blank labels with a default chalkboard font installed ready for you to choose which ever words yout want on the labels. This font can be changed: type, size or color, (as well as bold, italics, etc.) select Control +E if you’re using a PC or Command + E on a Mac. A toolbar will appear giving you additional text properties. Select “More” in the font properties toolbar for paragraph alignment and more.

To Print: we suggest using our full sheet labels and cutting the labels design out for perfect alignment. You can use a round hole punch for the round labels and/or for the larger round labels use WL-5375 and for the smaller round labels use WL-2088.

Please note: These labels were individually hand-painted by Emily McDowell as a special commissioned project for WorldLabel, and this lettering style is not available as a font.

Love all these, but my Mac desktop doesn’t seems to want to print them.

    Thank you,

    Hi Deborah
Please make sure you are using Adobe reader 9 or higher for best results. Best also to save file on desktop and then open. For the blank labels which are fillable, you can change the fonts by highlighting text and pressing Command + E.

    hope that helps

    Best regards

I could not get the blue blank templates (4th from top) to print out blue! They printed black and white?! I am not sure if it is something I am doing or a “glitch” in the download?? Thank you for a GREAT freebie! They are beautiful!

I also tried the control E option (on my pc) but it does not give me the toolbar that you mention in the above paragraph!

    Hi Shelly
Please make sure you are using Adobe reader 9 or higher. Try writing some text > highlight it, then press control + E.

Great labels. Thank you. The teal labels 2nd from the top seem to be blank, not labeled.

Thank you again for these awesome labels. 🙂

Thank you for making these adorable labels available! I am having a problem opening them, (I already checked my adobe, it’s v11). If I click on the picture, it just gives me an image, if it click download the images on the page do not load. I wanted to save these to my computer since I’m moving in a week and a half and don’t have time for this project right now.

Will these be available for a while?

    Hello Emily,
I love these labels and the font you designed. English is not mine and my flatmate’s mother tongue , so I would like to kindly ask if you could make the font available for downloading so I could print them in German?
    Thank you in advance!

The blank plain circle labels (without the frilly border) say “drawing error” when I download them. This doesn’t happen with the frilly border ones, but I’d rather use the plain. Hope this gets fixed. Love these labels!

Love these! Thank you for making them free for us! Silly question, what kind of paper do you suggest using? Regular? Wasn’t sure if there was a specific kind you suggest using and if they had a sticky back or not? Thanks for your help 🙂

  29. wlmanager Post author

Hi Lindsey, the paper used was Worldlabel’s standard white matte material (WX) with a permanent adhesive. In this case we used our WL-175wx size, a full sheet label and cut out the designs.

A silly question. I love the glass spice jars you are showing in the photos. Where did they come from?

Just a quick question when i downloaded the blank labels it gave me the option of using the chalkboard text. I was wondering what text you used for your spices etc that you have done as i didnt seem to get this as an option once pressing command +E
